.mr & mrs gentle

.I know it has been blogged about everywhere, but I don't care. I am completely obsessed with this bride's amazing wedding style so I had to blog about it. She bought the dungarees especially for her wedding day. And her outfit is total perfection. Mrs Gentle, I salute you!

.If these are not the cutest urban wedding photos ever I don't know what are! The couple eloped to New York and had what looks like a fun, chic yet totally affordable wedding day. The above photo is especially beautiful. Even though they are in NYC the dark night skyline, their karate moves and her kimono-esque shawl reminds me of Tokyo.

.The photos of the couple doing every day activities like taking the tube in their wedding outfits is brilliant! I think I will be asking our photographer to do the same thing with us. It is so cool. This couple's story of their wedding day is so lovely that rather than give you snippets of it I have copied their interview from the New York Magazine below. Enjoy!
Tina Lüdtke and Brian Kristjansen are not models. They’re a real, quirky Canadian couple in love, shown here karate-chopping through the drizzly mist in Brooklyn the night of their wedding. The couple got engaged a year after being set up on a blind date, and days after the proposal, they decided to come here to elope (all the way from Calgary). Four friends joined them as witnesses, and their New York–based wedding photographer, Dave Robbins, suggested they cruise around the city together, via limo and subway, to get interesting shots. On day two of their stay, they picked up their rings, which had been FedExed, and went to City Hall to get their marriage license. That night, for a rehearsal dinner of sorts, they went to Buddakan. “As we were leaving, Lou Reed walked in!” recalls Brian. The next day, they were married in Central Park, then traversed the city with friends and photographer in tow. “People were cheering for us in the streets, stopping their cars to honk,” says Brian. Their first dance was in the subway, and their wedding-night dinner (party of six) was at the River Café in Dumbo. “Our wedding cake was a chocolate dessert shaped like the Brooklyn Bridge, with a gold CONGRATULATIONS written on it. The whole thing was perfect.”

.I love Sex and the City. By this I do not mean that I enjoy watching it occasionally. I mean I am crazy about this show! When Dr.D. marries me he will not only be committing to the woman but also to a lifetime with her Sex and the City complete 6 season box set. Yes, I am one of those women. I am also a fashion accessories PR so in all honesty my love of a show devoted to fashion is hardly surprising.

.There must be some kind of Sex and the City reference at our wedding as it is such a big love of mine and Dr.D.'s ability to put up with me watching it non-stop for 4 years is in many ways testament to the strength of his love for me. Luckily the words of Carrie's Poem fit perfectly with the story of our love, so I am thinking of having it as my reading at our wedding.

.Even though I am a town hall bride and as petite as Ms Bradshaw I plan to wear a full length wedding gown as I fear regretting it later if I do not. I love the way Carrie styles this outfit though (don't worry, I know she is not real!). The minute I saw her blue Manolo Blahniks I knew I wanted coloured shoes on my wedding day too. I have since gone for something slightly different though. More about that later...

.engagement

.Audrey Gingras founder of New York fashion showroom Archetype held what would be my dream engagement party. Her dress code was Art Deco and guests partied at the beautiful (and yet to be opened) The Gates members only club.

Dr.D and I have considered having an engagement party, and it is still an option, but finding a venue which my family will all be happy with has been a challenge. The engagement party is also important to me because only a few of my 50 strong family have met him!

Venues I would love for the engagement party are:

Prism London
I love its 1920s glamour and the fact that it is housed in the former Bank of New York.

The Albion
Charming English pub and according to my sunday bible The Observer, the absolute best place for a sunday roast.

RS Lounge
It is local, and I love the riviera feel.

.like a lot of women i dreamed of walking down the aisle in louboutins. this clearly art deco inspired pair is my dream wedding shoe. it reminds me of the chrysler building. sadly it is out of my budget.
