.windmills

.Dr S has been busy at car boot sales picking up these lovely pieces.

.And my lovely Auntie Mary has been hunting around Harrow charity shops were she found these pieces and another set of 6 cups, saucers, and side plates (I have not taken pictures of that yet).

Thank to all of the help, I think we now have about 50 tea cups and saucers plus quite a few tea pots, sugar bowls and milk jugs. That is great going considering we only started collecting in the Spring and the wedding is 11 months away (yep, loads of time!)

.The vintage tea seat hunt has been going quite well thanks to the help of family and friends.
Firstly, my mother and I found these little gems in various Hampstead charity shops. The gold set are rather ridiculous but I think they could look good in the context of a fully styled afternoon tea room (fingers crossed anyhow).

.tea for two and two for tea

source . style me pretty (all images)

.I am so, so , so inspired by this tea party themed bridal shower shoot from Style Me Pretty. Not only are the colours in the palette I have been considering, the place name cards tied on tea bags is exactly what I have been planning to do! The only problem I am having is trying to decide what flavour the tea should be....

.darjeeling darling

.The single most stressful part of organising our wedding so far has been figuring out how to feed over 100 guests with a teeny-tiny budget (and I mean REALLY tiny). Thankfully, we may have finally found the solution - we shall serve afternoon tea at our wedding breakfast instead of the usual cooked meal.
.This makes perfect sense to me and Dr D as we believe that well made cakes, scones and sandwiches are far better than serving budget chicken and vegetables. Furthermore, afternoon tea is the perfect vintage wedding meal and just think how pretty it will be!
