.What colour bouquet must one carry when wearing a pale grey wedding dress? I can't decide. I think I love colourful blooms best and so does Dr. D. His preference is an important factor as it is OUR wedding (I do forget sometimes) and as he and his male friends and family will have to wear flowers on the day too so it is important that he likes it.
.My favourite flowers (I did not have a clue about flowers before beginning this wedding planning malarky - I have come across my 'favourite' through meticulous research) are peonies, they are lush! Below are some images I have saved over the past year of bouquets I like.
.I think the bouquet above is my favourite at the moment. It is so quirky and I love the groom's matching buttonhole.
*sorry no sources this time. I saved most of these images ages ago!
.m.v.b girls by modern vintage bride .I have been thinking long and hard about what my bridesmaids might wear. Finally, with the help of Polyvore, I have come up with this mood board.
.I am starting to really like the teal colour scheme I have settled on - I just don't know how I am going to get the colour to run consistently through the day as it varies so dramatically from object to object.
.I love everything about Jennifer & Floris' wedding. The DIY elements, the way they stayed true to who they are and most of all the great colour scheme! Even her pearls are grey - lovely huh?
source . the girls in the beauty dept .I am in love with Anna Pacquin's hair in this photo. It is exactly how I would love my wedding day hair to be; pretty and loose but with a bit of structure and a retro vibe.
.These framed paper hearts are so lovely. They are made and sold by a company called Sarah & Bendrix based in Surrey, UK. You can buy them via their Etsy shop. I think it would make the most fabulous first wedding anniversary present (it is paper in the first year, right?). Yes people, I am so obsessed with forward planning that I have considered first year wedding anniversary gifts...!
.I know it has been blogged about everywhere, but I don't care. I am completely obsessed with this bride's amazing wedding style so I had to blog about it. She bought the dungarees especially for her wedding day. And her outfit is total perfection. Mrs Gentle, I salute you!
.This wedding planing malarky has made me suddenly so girly and in love with all things pink and pretty. It is strange. I have gone from being a level-headed former tomboy, to getting excited about the girly fun of getting ready with my bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding. I plan to give them each a box of Charbonel et Walker truffles to pig out on as partial reward for putting up with me for several weeks.
.I am so, so , so inspired by this tea party themed bridal shower shoot from Style Me Pretty. Not only are the colours in the palette I have been considering, the place name cards tied on tea bags is exactly what I have been planning to do! The only problem I am having is trying to decide what flavour the tea should be....
.The single most stressful part of organising our wedding so far has been figuring out how to feed over 100 guests with a teeny-tiny budget (and I mean REALLY tiny). Thankfully, we may have finally found the solution - we shall serve afternoon tea at our wedding breakfast instead of the usual cooked meal.
.This makes perfect sense to me and Dr D as we believe that well made cakes, scones and sandwiches are far better than serving budget chicken and vegetables. Furthermore, afternoon tea is the perfect vintage wedding meal and just think how pretty it will be!
source . the beautiful liya kebede styled by the wonderful edward enninful via fashion gone rouge .I have been away for a while. I am sorry. My absence has been for a good cause though as I have finally gone from collecting abstract ideas about how I would love our wedding day to be, to actually putting ideas into action! More details to follow...
