.joy

.Sometimes wedding gowns look fabulous on the catwalk, on a model, but are not quite well made enough to look as good on we mere mortals. When it comes to Jenny Packham gowns though that is never the case. This bride word Joy from Jenny Packham's 2009 collection and I honestly think she looks even more beautiful than the model in the Jenny Packham campaign.

.This is also a UK wedding which pleases me immensely as when it comes to stylish original weddings Americans seem to have the edge.

The photographer Samantha Capitano is based in London but works a lot in Italy too.

headband(II)

charleston $38.00 by old soul, new heart
young hearts $32.00 by old soul, new heart
triple threat $35.00 by old soul, new heart
.This morning I fell head-over-heels in love with new label Old Soul, New Heart. They make the most beautiful vintage inspired headbands I have seen in a while. I can't even begin to decide which one I would go for. Could I wear all of them on my wedding day, changing them round every hour? Some of you may have read my previous post about potentially becoming a double veil bride, this label is making that crazy idea more and more probable.

.carrie

.I love Sex and the City. By this I do not mean that I enjoy watching it occasionally. I mean I am crazy about this show! When Dr.D. marries me he will not only be committing to the woman but also to a lifetime with her Sex and the City complete 6 season box set. Yes, I am one of those women. I am also a fashion accessories PR so in all honesty my love of a show devoted to fashion is hardly surprising.

.There must be some kind of Sex and the City reference at our wedding as it is such a big love of mine and Dr.D.'s ability to put up with me watching it non-stop for 4 years is in many ways testament to the strength of his love for me. Luckily the words of Carrie's Poem fit perfectly with the story of our love, so I am thinking of having it as my reading at our wedding.

.Even though I am a town hall bride and as petite as Ms Bradshaw I plan to wear a full length wedding gown as I fear regretting it later if I do not. I love the way Carrie styles this outfit though (don't worry, I know she is not real!). The minute I saw her blue Manolo Blahniks I knew I wanted coloured shoes on my wedding day too. I have since gone for something slightly different though. More about that later...

.I love this Vanity Fair photo. It encompasses everything which is glamorous and sexy about 1930s style.

.I absolutely love Charlotte Casadéjus's wedding dresses. They have the perfect mix of 1930s elegance and modern chic.

.Each of the dresses has antique beading unique to it.

source . cecile by charlotte casadéjus
.She also does a great line of accessories which I have featured on here before.

source . emma by charlotte casadéjus
.Best of all her shorter dresses like this one, which is also available in cream, would make fabulous 1930s inspired bridesmaids dresses.
Charlotte Casadéjus's central London bridal boutique is by appointment only.

.bubbles

.I love this bride Josie's bubbles necklace. Quirky wedding jewellery is great as it shows that the bride is staying true to herself on her wedding day. Sadly I have no idea where this necklace is from. Does anyone know?

source . bella grace studios
.Even her cake topper is wearing the bubble necklace!

.Though based in NYC this super stylish couple held their wedding and reception at the newly opened, painfully hip, 21c Museum Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky - I had no idea Kentucky was so cool.

.pleats

.I have talked about the Carnaby Street Bridal Store Fur Coat No Knickers before but their dresses are so wonderful that I must mention them again!
Here we see a stunning satin pleated copy of a 1950s dress the shop made for Lottie who married Mick at The George in Rye in March 2009. I love the way the bride styles her gown with subtle gold accessories.

.I am afraid these black and white photos do not quite do it justice so to get a better idea of just how beautiful Lottie and Mick's wedding was (I am particularly impressed by her choice of Charbonnel et Walker treats) check out their wonderful photographer Jodie Chapman's blog.

.These wedding rings by Alex & Chloe for Revolve Clothing
are super cool. Each ring costs around $1800. I love the unconventionality of it while still remaining a beautiful piece. I am not sure it is the ring for me (for a start I don't fancy having stones in my wedding ring) but I really think these 14k gold jewels could be the perfect set of wedding rings for a super hip couple.

.the little details

source . marianne taylor photography
.Once a wedding ceremony and reception venue are decided upon and booked convention has it that the next most important thing to book is the photographer. We are still yet to actually book our town hall and reception (although we now know which it will be) but I am already 100% decided on the photographer I want for our wedding: Marianne Taylor.

source . marianne taylor photography
.It is the little details of the day she captures which I find breathtakingly beautiful.

source . marianne taylor photography
.I love the way her photographs are full of so much energy and life that they make you feel like you were actually there.

source . marianne taylor photography
.I love the way she makes guests look beautiful too.

.I just hope to that Dr.D. and I can get her for our wedding and at a rate we can afford - it would break my heart if we couldn't...

.i love ginny & ed

source . josh goleman via once wed

.I don't usually post lots of photos from real weddings but some weddings are so incredibly beautifully awe-inspiring that to only post a few photos could never do it justice. Ed & Ginny's 1920s styled wedding embodies this perfectly. The photos were all taken by Josh Goleman. The guests all joined in with the theme and wore 1920s outfits and the whole day was clearly filled with so much love...

.Ginny's bridesmaids look perfect. Their matching - but not matching - dresses complement hers so well without making everyone look like an identikit clone. I really think in this day and age styling bridesmaids with more individuality works so much better and looks so much more beautiful and stylish.

.Isn't Ginny's dress and shrug spectacular? I really don't understand why more women do not think outside of the conventional box and pick a dress which suit their personal style for their wedding day.

.Josh Goleman is clearly an incredibly talented photographer. If you are lucky enough to live in NYC book him for your wedding! I would, but I live in London...

.Instead of having a boring standard guest book the bride and groom asked guests to write their wishes on a piece of vintage fabric. The pieces would then be sown together to make quilt - their very first family heirloom.

.They also had a 'photobooth' which Dr D. and I will definitely be having. We both love photgraphy so it is really important for us to have that as part of our wedding.

.Not only were their photos stunning Josh Goleman also made them a beautiful video too. Enjoy!

.This wedding has given me a lot of inspiration. It also gives me a lot to consider:
Should my two bridesmaids wear identical dresses or different yet similar dresses?
How strictly should I stick to the vintage theme when it comes to attire?
Should the groom and groomsmen dress in vintage style too?
Should I stick to the 1930s art deco period religiously?
Or allow myself to slip into a bit of late 1920s flapper style?
Should I ask guests to dress in period style too?!
